Its been quite a adventurous and unprecedented summer for us. We have reach quite a few mild stones at Top Flight. And as the summer break winds down and the kids get ready to resume school, Top Flight MMA students took the Naga Battle of the Beach by storm and add to the their stories they will tell their class about how awesome there summer was.

NAGA Battle of the Beach is one of the premier tournaments of the year and not to mention it’s one of original tournament from the late 90’s and hugely responsible for spreading BJJ in the East Coast. Right off the boardwalk in WildWood, NJ, thousands of competitors come from all over for their chance be #1. Top Flight brought up 7 competitors to take part in one of the biggest tournaments of the year.

Results go as follows

Marcus Gash Expert Gold- In his first time in the expert division, Marcus wins the Marcus has been training all summer for this tournament, pushing himself in the combat athlete practice, and the hard work paid off.

Jayden Harris Double Intermediate Gold- in her first time at a Naga tournament Jayden comes back with 2 first place swords
Diedrick Smith Double Expert Gold-Diedrick has the hot hand. Just weeks ago Diedrick won his first expert belt and this time he comes back with 2 expert belts!
Eric Lee 4th place- After winning his way and earning is right to compete in the expert division for the first time, Eric showed valiant effort, a true Top Flight warrior.
Stephen Smothers 1st and 2nd place. Stephen had another great grappling showing, putting on display his moves he is learning in the combat athlete grappling class, taking home gold in No gi and silver in Gi.
Nigel Smothers 2nd place- Nigel like his brother, also had another great showing

and took home the silver in the No Gi division
Coach Steve Eilola 2nd in Blue Belt and 3rd in No gi-  Coach Steve, in his first go in the blue belt division( mind you he is still a white belt in BJJ) gets the silver and in No gi takes home the bronze. Both Divisions were stacked.
Coach Eddie Doud Gold in Nogi intermediate-  Coach Eddie adds another BJJ gold medal to his collection in another dominant performance.
