If you are a fight fan there was no shortage of excitement this past Saturday. Lets start with the Cash Cow Manny Pac-Man Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito. My GOODNESS out of all of the fights this weekend that was my favorite. Pacquiao is absolute beast, he was out weighed by almost 20lbs and had a height disadvantage and for 99% of the fight appeared to be the more power and power and physically dominate man. A couple of times they did a slow motion replay and you could see Pacquiao landing 4-6 clean punches and these punches were coming from all angles.  Understand Margarito is a beast and for long time was consider the most feared welter weight and in his bout with Miguel Cotto he didn’t stumble once when getting hit with clean punches from Cotto but when and a smaller Pacquiao connected he would wobble Margarito. And at one point had Margarito doubled over from a body shot. His performance was incredible, not to mention he was beating Margarito so bad that he decided to show him mercy and carry him through to the end of the fight. When asked about that in the post fight interview he said he didn’t want to permanently hurt his opponent. WOW and if you are MMA fighter you should be studying Pac Man because that’s the boxing that will work in Mixed Martial Arts. The way he does his lateral movement is perfect for MMA. And I believe the boxing area is lacking in MMA, MMA fighter have horrible boxing technique and they just make up for it with sheer power and small gloves. If a MMA fighter were to move like Manny they would definitely be knocking everyone out! Another boxer while I’m thinking of it, to watch is Gary Russel Jr, His boxing is perfect for MMA. But back to Pac Man, until the mega show down, You know what I’m talking about, Pac is as edged out the Pound for Pound Title. I’m just waiting for the showdowns of showdowns. Mayweather vs Pacquiao that is the fight to Top all fight right now in  MMA , Muay Thai, and Boxing.

Then to the UFC I will only speak of the fight between Andre Winner and Dennis Siver. That was my fight of the night. Both fighter have incredible striking so it made for a entertaining battle. Andre speed was his advantage but it would be Siver’s well places left hook to start the end, he would finish the fight with rear naked choke BJ Penn style. Gotta keep them hands up man but other than that i was real impressed with the speed and the combos of Winner. In the Top Flight MMA classes this week will dissect the combos and work on keeping our hands up.
