This past Saturday at Stellar Fight 23 Top Flight MMA Fight Team member and Kids MMA Instructor, Steven ” The Sniper” Eilola won the light weight MMA title.
Steven dominated every round with close submission attempts, ground control and effective striking to win by unanimous decision.
This was Steven’s biggest test to date, as his opponent, John Mosley, is well known for his KO power. And to add to the threat of a powerful opponent that is always one second away from delivering a knock out, this was the first time Steve cut weight to compete. Each previous bout Steven competed at his walk around weight of 170. Weight cuts done incorrectly can greatly diminish a fighter’s ability to perform, but between the preparation at Top Flight MMA and going down to Team Lloyd Irvin headquarters to get sparring rounds with UFC fight James Vick, and getting counseling from the best of UFC weight cut specialist, George Lockhart, Steven was able to perform and get his very first MMA championship belt.
