Team Lloyd Irvin’s/ Alliance MMA Training Center Phil Davis earns a
impressive W, with a victory over MMA legend Rogerio Nogeira/ Lil Nog.
Phil controlled the fight from beginning to end, using his new and improved
striking skills to set up his takedowns. I tell you what, most people were
amazed at how Lil Nog was able to stuff the takedowns early on in the fight
but having spent the last 2 1/2 weeks with Phil and knowing how hard he
hits, I’m amazed that Lil Nog was still standing and that his arms were not
broke! There were a coulpe of kicks that Phil delivered that I know for a
fact shock Lil Nog to his core. Then on one of the first kicks Phil threw
missed Nog’s chin by a centimeter and hit him right in the throat, that one
alone should have stopped Nogeira. Lil Nog is a MMA soldier for real, I
wont say he was lucky because Luck is for the untrained or unprepared
fighter and no one gets into the UFC octagon uprepared, but he I’ll say he
was very fortunate that he didn’t go down to some of Phil’s strikes. Phil
eventually got the takedowns and controlled the ground area getting in some
good ground an pound. Nothing is certain in a fight but I had a real good
feeling that Nogeira wasn’ t going to be able to do anything to Phil on the
ground. He might not be a BJJ black belt but he definitely has Black Belt
pressure, I’m speaking from experience. Great performance Phil! I can say
this I see Phil definitely stopping beat people with his striking in the
near future, so now opponent will have to fear his hands, feet, wrestling,
and his submission game!
Top Flight MMA students I know appreciated and reckonized the MMA
techniques Mr. Wonderful was going for because since I’ve been back from
San Diego we have been drilling them. The team has been working on some
sick takedown sequences and defenses straight from Phil Davis and his
parnter Jared Platt, and in sparring Top Flight students Steven Eilola and
Eddie Doud have really taking a liking to some off striking combos Brandon
Vera and Coach Eric Del Feirro were working with me. I might have to put
some of the sparring action up on spy cam because these guys are looking
good, especially since they’ve had no previous MMA experience and have been
training for such a short time.
