This past weekend Top Flight MMA took up a handful of Master Club and Combat Athlete competitors to grapple at the Good Fight Submission Only Tournament. Concept of the submission only tournament is that the only way to win is by submission. No time limits, just submissions; the true BJJ way!
In the grappling/ BJJ world the submission is like the knockout, the undeniable proof that you are the victor. The Gracies were infamous for bring about this concept of no time limits, you go till you tap your opponent out or your opponent quits. No confusion on a bad ref call, no judges, no disputing the fact of who the better person was!What also made this tournament cool was that there was only 1 trophy, and that was for the 1st place, I mean winner of the division.
