The last few weeks have been amazing for fights in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Boxing. This past weekend was a real crowd pleaser with 2 MMA events to flip back and forth to between the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Strike Force on Showtime. The UFC had some very interesting fights 1 with Nam Phan vs Leonard Garcia, which I don’t think I have ever witness such a robbery in a judges decision before. Nam Phan outclassed Leonard Garcia in every round but lost a split dec. When I say robbery that was the worst call ever in MMA. Nam Phan looked super impressive, he will definitlely be force to reckon with a 145 FOR SURE! And congratulations to Jonathan Brookins, digging deep and pulling out the dec over Mike Johnson to become The Ulimate Fighter winner.
Now Strike Force had all the Fire Works saturday. They put on some amazing MMA bouts. There were like 4 straight finishes, 3 in the first round 1 in the second. Much respect to Mike Kyle although he lost to Big Foot Silva by ref stoppage he gave the Silva the fight of his life by almost stopping him in the first round. Not mention that Kyle is 205er and was brought in to just to fill in and vacancy and was heavily out weighed. He almost pulled out huge up set dropping big foot in the first couple of sec of round 1. Big Foot would survive and eventually pound out a ref stoppage in round 2 but Mike Kyle stock definitely rose with this fight.
And OMG Paul Daley is a beast. His striking is definitely one of the best in MMA. His precisions and patience is something to be studied by all MMA fighters who desire to deliver devastating KO’s. Paul picks his opponent apart with jabs, kicks, and crosses and then delieved this amazing check hook, staight out of Floyd Mayweather page, that send opponent, Scott Smith, to the canvas face first.
Robbie Lawler vs Matt Lindland didn’t last long either. Robbie slipped and came back up with vicious upper cut/cross/hook combo that momentarily knock out lindland then robbie finished off with right hand from back field that knock out Lindland cold.
Then for the Main event Dan Henderson vs Renato Babalu Sobral, Henderson redeemed himself making quick work of Babalu KOing
him with GNP, dang Dan hits hard. He was already promised a title shot against 205 champion Raphael Fejiao. That sound like fire works
